I have a 3 year old male cat. He has started sitting on my shoulders, and pulling my hair with his teeth-why?

Why, he%26#039;s flossing his teeth! I have a cat that always does that.

I have a 3 year old male cat. He has started sitting on my shoulders, and pulling my hair with his teeth-why?
Mabey he is attracted to you...lol
Reply:He likes your hair and it%26#039;s a cat thing believe me my cats do it to...
Reply:Because he loves you. Make sure he has plenty of things to play with. If you laugh when he does it he will think you like it and he wants to entertain you:)
Reply:Maybe it%26#039;s your tuna shampoo, bro...
Reply:I had a cat who loved to chomp on my hair, too. Maybe it was the shampoo I use, or maybe it looked so much like a big mop of fun string-like playthings, he couldn%26#039;t resist. He always stopped when I turned around and paid attention to him. Your cat might just want some attention, and he knows he%26#039;ll get it when he starts nomming on your head.
Reply:Because he%26#039;s doing what comes naturally. If you were a companion cat %26amp; he liked you, he%26#039;d do the same. It%26#039;s a sign of deep affection. You don%26#039;t have to put up with it if it really bothers you. I always found it very amusing, reassuring and enjoyed it.

Reply:You should be honored, he%26#039;s grooming you.
Reply:He is only doing what comes naturally. He is grooming you. It is a sign of affection. Enjoy.
Reply:my cat does exactly the same thing. I think it`s because its hair and cats like to clean hair. Even if it`s not dirty they still do it.They also like to eat hair or fur to be sick and to clear their stomachs out to avoid furballs.
Reply:well i used to have 3 cats and they were all male and one of my cats loved hair and he was very keen to get up on our shoulders and attack our heads lol very painful but he stopped in the end and started on our feet.

our other 2 cats just layed around and did not really care about our feet hair or anything really they were the nice one%26#039;s lol
Reply:Yeah if you grow a beard he%26#039;ll clean that too

errrrr......just make sure it%26#039;s before he cleans

himself first ; )
Reply:He%26#039;s grooming you, hehe. He%26#039;s telling you he likes you!! :)
Reply:It could be that he was taken away from his mother.

He shows affection and acceptance of you as his %26#039;feline mother figure%26#039;! He is suckling on your hair like he would have on his mother.

Suckling is more than sucking, it is a general %26#039;tasting%26#039; and %26#039;marking%26#039; exercise.

Unless it is a problem for you, enjoy it as it is something you will miss one day when he is gone - it%26#039;s his %26#039;special thing%26#039;.

Ps. Mine male tabby (P-nut) also does that, so I got him a special teddy-bear that feels as close as possible to my own hair, and now he sucks on %26#039;Bentley%26#039; the bear and I%26#039;m off the hook!

Ps2: %26#039;Bently%26#039; needs a wash every week!
